Unipile integration

Unipile integration for LinkedIn and WhatsApp

Unipile is the service AgentSDR uses to reach LinkedIn and WhatsApp. Connect your own Unipile workspace once per organization, and the webhooks it needs are registered for you.

What it powers

One connection behind two channels

LinkedIn and WhatsApp share the same Unipile connection. Changing it in one place changes it in the other. Without it, both channels are off.

  • LinkedIn

Connection invitations, messages, search and inbox sync, from the LinkedIn accounts you link.
  • WhatsApp messaging

Messaging and the Numbers list, with sending guards applied on the server.
  • WhatsApp calling

Calls placed from AgentSDR through a linked number. Recording needs Cloudflare R2 as well.
  • Webhooks

Unipile tells AgentSDR when an invitation is accepted or a message arrives, so replies reach the CRM.
  • One inbox

Replies from both channels are stored first in a webhook ledger and then land in the same CRM queue as email replies.

What you need

A Unipile account and about 10 minutes

  • A Unipile account. Unipile is a paid service billed by Unipile directly: AgentSDR does not charge for it, so check Unipile's own pricing.
  • The owner or admin role in AgentSDR.
  • AgentSDR running at a public address (BETTER_AUTH_URL) if you want webhooks registered automatically. Registration is skipped on a localhost address.

Setup

Three values, one test, then link your accounts

The short version. The documentation covers each field, the webhook badge and every error message.

  1. 01

    Copy your DSN

The Unipile dashboard shows the address of your Unipile API at the top. Paste it as it appears; AgentSDR adds https://.
  2. 02

    Generate an access token

Create one under Access tokens in the Unipile dashboard and copy it straight away: Unipile shows it only once.
  3. 03

    Connect & test

In Settings, LinkedIn, Connection, click Connect. AgentSDR makes one call to Unipile to check the DSN and token, saves them encrypted and registers the webhooks.
  4. 04

    Link accounts

For LinkedIn, sign in on Unipile's hosted page from Settings, LinkedIn, Accounts. For WhatsApp, scan the QR code in Unipile, then use Sync from Unipile under Settings, WhatsApp, Numbers.

Security and data

Your passwords never reach AgentSDR

AgentSDR holds a Unipile token for your organization. LinkedIn sign-in happens on Unipile's page, and every webhook is checked against the organization it belongs to.

  • No LinkedIn password

LinkedIn sign-in happens on Unipile's hosted page. AgentSDR never sees the password, and the sign-in link is single-use and expires after 15 minutes.
  • Encrypted at rest

Saved credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using your instance's INTEGRATION_CREDENTIALS_KEY and are never sent back to the browser. Leave a secret field blank when editing to keep the saved value.
  • Verified before saving

Each credential is checked with one live call before it is saved. If the check fails, nothing is stored and the form shows the reason.
  • Webhooks carry a secret and an organization

Each webhook URL names your organization and each delivery carries a generated secret. Events for an account that is not yet synced, or belongs to another organization, are acknowledged and dropped.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What does Unipile do for AgentSDR?

It is the service AgentSDR uses to reach LinkedIn and WhatsApp: invitations, messages, search and inbox sync on LinkedIn, and messaging and calling on WhatsApp. Without it both channels are off.

Does AgentSDR charge for Unipile?

No. Unipile is billed by Unipile directly to your own account, and AgentSDR lists no prices for it. Check Unipile's own pricing.

Do I have to set up webhooks in Unipile?

No. Saving the integration registers two webhooks in your Unipile workspace through Unipile's API: one for accepted LinkedIn connections and one for LinkedIn and WhatsApp messages. If registration fails, the card has a Register again button, and owners and admins can show the URLs and secret to create them by hand.

Why are webhooks not registered on my local install?

Unipile's servers cannot reach a localhost address, so registration is skipped there. Run AgentSDR at its public address and click Register again.

Are LinkedIn and WhatsApp connected separately?

The Unipile connection is shared. The accounts are linked separately: LinkedIn through Unipile's hosted sign-in, WhatsApp by scanning a QR code in Unipile and syncing the numbers. The two syncs never touch each other's accounts.

What happens if Unipile is not connected?

Features that need it answer HTTP 409 with a message to connect it, and the accounts pages show a Connect Unipile prompt. There is no environment fallback.

Run LinkedIn and WhatsApp from your own Unipile workspace

Connect it once, link your accounts and let replies from every channel land in one place.
